December 7th Best Mortgage Interest Rates and Lock Recommendation

By: Liz Freeman
November 30th, 2009

*** LOCK ALERT *** RATES IMPROVE SLIGHTLY (FINALLY) *** Mortgage interest rates drop as investors in stocks take their profits and run. Rates stopped a 5-day losing streak and finally recovered somewhat today. LOCK if closing very soon; the latter part of the week could prove volatile.

November 30th Best Mortgage Interest Rates and Lock Recommendation

By: Liz Freeman
November 30th, 2009

*** STOCKS STUMBLE, RATES IMPROVE *** ADVISE LOCKING *** With no economic data scheduled for release today, interest rates will largely be driven by the performance of the stock market. This morning, equities are trading lower, and bond yields have dropped too–good for mortgage rates.

and must be conventionally built.

*** LOCK ALERT *** MORTGAGE RATES LOWER *** LOCK NOW *** LOCK NOW *** LOCK NOW *** Mortgage interest rates are as good as they’ve ever been. Rates improve in the wake of a successful Treasury auction. Ample downside, little upside in floating.

November 23rd Best Mortgage Interest Rates and Lock Recommendation

By: Liz Freeman
November 18th, 2009

RATES DOWN TO SIX MONTH LOWS. NO REASON TO FLOAT. With rates in bargain-basement territory, a lot of economic data ahead, and a week shortened by Thanksgiving, borrowers have every reason to lock and very little to gain by floating.

November 18th Best Mortgage Interest Rates and Lock Recommendation

MORTGAGE INTEREST RATES AT SIX-MONTH LOWS. LOCK, LOCK, LOCK. Today’s most important report, the Consumer Price Index (CPI), shows that inflation is still not something we need to concern ourselves with. Overall prices are still down .2% from last year.

November 17th Best Mortgage Interest Rates and Lock Recommendation

By: Liz Freeman
November 17th, 2009

PRODUCER PRICES LOWER THAN EXPECTED, RATES NEAR ALL-TIME LOWS. ADVISE LOCKING. This important report indicates that inflation is not yet a concern. Normally, if costs to the prodecers of goods rise, they are forced to pass them on to consumers, fueling inflation at the consumer level. Analysts expected prices to increase by .6%, but they were only half right–prices increased by .3% and when volatile food and energy were excluded, prices actually dropped like rocks–a huge .6%!

November 16th Best Mortgage Interest Rates and Lock Recommendation

By: Liz Freeman
November 16th, 2009

MORTGAGE RATES STILL LOW. ADVISE LOCKING ASAP. Mortgage-backed securities (MBS) are still trading near the top of their range, meaning that mortgage interest rates are holding near the bottom of theirs. Mortgage rates move inversely to MBS and bond pricing. We are only about .125% higher than the lowest mortgage rates in history; there is little room for improvement and so I recommend locking your mortgage interest rate.
